yamaha blaster air box ideas

my daughter is racing xc with her blaster. currently her engine is getting upgraded so she will have a ton more power and will need a ton more air which the stock air box can not provide. ive been looking around for ideas on air boxes with lids and a snorkel but cant find anything but boxes without lids which i dont want. i want a lid with a snorkel. does any one have any experience or ideas on how to do this? i can weld aluminum and have a bunch of sheet aluminum laying around so making or modifying an air box is not problem.

Check out CFM. I had their box on my mx built blaster and it uses a way bigger filter. It comes with a lid but no snorkel. If anything it might give you some ideas on how to fab your own.

From that picture I'd be tempted to use a 250r or 450r filter and R intake boot then add a port for your snorkel. How close is a R air box to fitting in the blaster frame?

as far as filters ill just get a measure to fit filter so thats the last on my list to figure out. i like your idea! i dont know why i diddnt even think of that. my R air box is already out of my frame so ill sit it in there and see how it fits. i was also looking at the water resistant outerwears covers for the air box. looks like there pretty tough against water. id still rather have a full snorkel but at least i have a back up plan of i cant make one work.
