With the build I'm doing, I think I have my suspension figured out and now I just need to figure out what long travel arms I want.
Does anyone have opinions on the American star racing (ASR) long travels? They are considerably cheaper than most which is why I would like to know.
I also might have the opportunity to get some fairly good condition 400ex long travels as well and I'm a little confused as to how the 400ex suspension works. I read that they will work but require small spacers where they mount to the frame due to them being thinner than the 250R's. The thing I'm confused about is, does all the other components toward the wheel side (spindles, hubs, brakes, etc) compatible? No one really seems to clarify if they are just running full 400ex front ends or if they are using just the arms and spacers and then 250R components like the spindles, hubs, and brakes. Could someone tell me if all I need is my 250R stuff and 400ex arms and spacers or do I need a full 400ex front end?
If its too much work, I'll just get the ASR long travels or if those are shit, then I'll try to find some other brand 250R long travels.
