Jet advice
« on: June 21, 2017, 04:17:24 PM »
Probably a long shot, but here it goes. I bought this used years ago.
My motor is a esr 310 that is drag ported by Nate McCoy. It has LRD pipe and LED spark arrested silencer, stock ignition, vf3's, fuel customs intake, 39mm carb. Last time I took it out it was blubbery and it'd fall on its face from mid 3rd to early 4th gear then seem to clean out. That was with my old intake set up, now I just added the fci. Currently has 180 main,52 pilot and dgh needle at 3rd slot from the bottom. It's been a few years since I've ridden it and I do remember it didn't like to idle for very long. I was thinking maybe the pilot was to small.
I need to order more jets this week, so if anyone has any idea that would be great. Thanks

Hey there, I also have a 310, but built by hybrid Engineering. I run a 185 main, 52 pilot, and dgh needle at the third groove. So I would say you have to be in the ballpark. Do you know if you have any air leaks? I had a cracked case that caused me all kinds of jetting issues.

I hope I don't have any leaks. I'll have to check soon. Should I try a tad leaner needle? Forgot to mention I am at 300ft sea level.

I ride mine at the Oregon dunes so we are in the same elevation range. I am not great with needle sizes so I'm not much help. I usually just adjust the needle that I have. Is this the R you are going to ride at the Winchester meet up? I bet you could find a few helpful guys there.

I'm waiting on a cylinder to get back from boring & will be going to Sandlake to get it dialed in once it's back together. I have a bunch of Keihin main's from 170 to 205 & pilots from 45 to 65. If you want to meet up there your welcome to use my jets to figure out what you need.

Thanks norm. We're running basically the same set up jet wise then. What is your air screw set at then? I don't remember what mine is at . Maybe like 2 or 3 turns.
Thanks Broken.
I am hoping to take my quad out to my in-laws here soon and play around with a few settings, to get a idea what it's wanting. Keep me updated on yours and we can meet up.

Let's do it. I only need 400ex hubs now and I'll be putting the rear end together, and ready to ride.
