sorry I thought the same thing on the plane as well and after doing the bends it puts the range of motion on a different plane. I only bent I tie rod to experiment. and swaping out the tie rods does make a difference in comparison. I went back and forth with putting in the bent on and the straight one here is the set up moving forward

That thing is sweet!!  Love those a arms/front end.

still in progress. the truth is a while back I did a little business with rob wicks. so then I asked him if he could make me a front bumper / grab bar. I fabricated a make shift one with some tubing and plates I sent to him and he started to make front bumpers for the 250r. I then sent him a draft for a rear bumper and so the story goes. he made the one that is currently on my bike. I have changed up the configuration on the design for my next grab bar. I will send it out to him. so easy to work with rob does excellent work. wicked metal designs.

if you ever want to revert back to the 250r rear, you should try these guys:  https://www.facebook.com/Tyson-Racing-247998605285507/

it will be lighter and stronger than the 450 swinger.  from experience i broke a couple 400ex swingers back in the day that were of the same cast type.
