It’ll probably be around the same time next August and probably have dates figured out around the gist of the year possibly sooner

How big is the dune area at Winchester?
Im thinking about making the 29-30 hour drive next year.
Been thinking about Glamis...but sounds like there are more things in the area opposed to just dessert an dunes.

Sameltoe, where would you be leaving from? I've thought about this myself. I'm in Alabama. Been to Reno, NV and back. Not scared to drive lol.

Oregon. Literally the farthest contiguous state from us haha. I'm still not against it.

Winchester is a pretty decent size not the biggest place I’ve been to but probably the most beautiful place I’ve ridden  if you go to glamis go with someone who’s knows the place very easy to get lost there

If you're coming that far, plan to stay a week and also ride the other dunes (Winchester Bay has Florence riding area 30 min to the North and Coos/North Bend riding area to the South).

Here's a link to the Forest Service's map of the OHV areas:

Sweet!  Glamis in summer is too hot anyways and another 1000 miles South from Oregon Dunes.  You can easily spend a week or more exploring the Oregon Dunes.  But if you're taking your toys, I'd also recommend stopping at St. Anthony's in Idaho to ride for a bit since it's really on your way.  You could also dip into Sand Mountain, UTAH (been once and loved it, it's more out of the way but had an awesome time there).

Ya don’t ride glamis in the summer it’ll reach 115-120 degrees easy out there glamis and dumont dunes season is just starting now till March roughly. If your coming from Iowa you’d probably be coming across I80 so little Sahara an sand mountain  Utah is about 2.5 south of Salt Lake City so not to far out of the way and try st Anthony like OJ said
