Its really not as complicated as it seams, once you know the rules.

Hope you and troy get a chance to make it, while it does not have the area of Little Sahara it still a fun place.

Lots of people drive trucks in the dunes which I did not see much of a L.S. Drivig a truck in the Dunes is nice because you can setup "camp" and have everything right there while in the dunes.
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

Agreed Dave. The key is the night before. Getting a good spot in line b4 9pm. Dropping a vehicle or timing it just right is best. We were 100th vehicle in line Friday night a few weeks ago. Got the 8am voucher. Sat morning we were there at 7:55 and there were only 20 in line to get in. Plenty of room at that time to get a good spot in the parking lot without having to worry about swinging trailers around tight spots. Hurts a hangover so early but once you set up in the lot you can take a nap before 9.  Or not

Thanks for the great info Dave! This process is intense! All to manage the long lines of ORV's entering the gate? I'll talk to Troy and see if he's intersted.

You guys better be there Dan!  Oh BTW I talked to Joe yesterday and he told me to tell you, and I quote: "Fug Yah!"

Dave seems to have a handle on all the questions, Glad i dont have to answer them. But i will confirm, getting a voucher is not much of a hassle at all, We park a vehicle or 2 in line, and as long as we have 4 guys in each vehicle, we can get 4 parking lot vouchers per vehicle. It is simple. Flags you can get for $15-$25 depending where you go. ORV is $16.50, state park pass is $10 for instate residents, im not sure what it is for out of state...
Spark arrestors are a must, theyve really cracked down on this.
Noise is not an issue, i mean there's always a couple handfuls of drag bikes out there and we know how loud they are.
I hope you can all make it! it'd be cool to get a bunch of us together and ride PINNED!

The real loud drag bikes are all hauled in in the back of trucks, if someone tried riding past the DNR shack it might get you some hassle.
Just drive in with engine rpms low while going past the DNR shack or even try leaving the choke on making the bike kind of blubber past the officer.

But start looking for old no longer made "sparky" spark arrestors that clamp on to your silencer or buy a fmf turbine core silencer.
If you can make a real profesional looking spark arrestor then that will work also just dont show up with a window screen half assed over the end of the silencer, it will NOT pass.

Its not that big of a deal to run a spark arrestor so no pissing and moaning :)

George, i replaced every electrical compenent possible and all wiring. I talked with Dave Labor Day weekend, we think my float bowl is just running out of fuel, doing a petcock mod so both reserve and on flow into the carb, and playing with the float. Hopefully that fixes it. running outta ride time! Its wedding crunch time so riding isnt really an option, my fiance's carb has been an issue for a about a month now, and ive been playing with my R all year. just never seem to have enough time in the day.

Agreed. Pro circuit also makes a spark arrestor silencer (u.s.f.s. approved), that's what I'm running, so far so good.

Well guys, i was the last quad in the dunes this year before they closed up, It was raining the whole day. I took the day off work, called up a buddy to ride the wifes bike, and we had a blast. We were the only ones not in a vehicle out there all day, and the majority of the time we had the dunes to ourselves. Of course, the last ride of the year was the best my quad ran all season, but i was happy. Definitely put the R away wet that day. Cant wait for this shindig next summer!

I can't believe I missed this whole thread...

My cousin (rough250r) and I are planning to make the trip. We're both pumped to get out, ride the dunes and meet up with a bunch of fellow R guys!

Anyone who is considering (dan & Troy) should really try to go.  It'd be great to finally meet and put faces with the names of so many I already consider friends and have known for many years now. Let's ride and drink some beers and make this one hell of an ORGy!!
