It is great for trail riding, sand dunes, and MX. Designed primarily for ported cylinders. Gives great acceleration. I have never had anyone unhappy with that pipe.

Arlen what's the best way to seal the 2 sections?  I've always used RTV silicone.  These are great all around pipes!

My favorite sealer is 3 Bond 1211. Apply sealer to the male part of the pipe. slide the back half over the front. A berm of sealer will   form as you slide the pipe together. Wipe off the excess sealer and install the adjuster bolt. If you can let the sealer set up for a few hrs it is better.
The length adjustment allows you to move the powerband up or down in rpm. Longer gives more low end or shifts the powerband down in rpm. Shorter move the rpms higher or shift the powerband up in rpm.
The pipe were designed to work with our grand national engine kit in 1996. We were running 186' to 188' of exhaust port timing and the power peak was at about 7800 rpm. We found this to give the most acceleration out of the turns, while still giving good rev out.  I have to give a lot of credit to Gary Denton for never letting me forget that acceleration is more important that peak hp. We used this pipe To win XC champions ships with Barry Hawk and Bill balance from 1992-2003.
This pipe was used to win over 25 National championships. We used this pipe to help Jeremiah Jones win the last 250 National championship on a 250R in 2003.
That philosophy developed on nation MX, TT and XC race tracks, applies to the sand. Pulling paddle tires up hill in the sand requires that same type of power.

Great thanks for the tip, Arlen!  Are the 350PV pipes in process as well?  Is there much difference bw. stamped pipes and hand coned?

I think I might have just found the pipe I want for my PC2000 engine.

Because I plan on going big bore this winter (330-350cc)....will you be offering a similar pipe for the bigger bore?

Our big bore pipe is a lot better for the 330 and bigger engine. It is more that a 250 pipe with a big stinger. Our hand coned big bore is a good deal however at $350.00 unplated. It does require a big bore silencer. We can build the oval LRD big bore silencer for $149.95 which is less than the round style which is $195.00.
We only have enough stampings to build 5 of the LRD 350D pipes. We plan to build them this winter.

Too bad you can't dedicate some stampings for a few zilla pipes. When the LRD pipes surface they don't last long and go for top $. - J

We have stampings for LT 500 pipes. We just need a quad to fit them so we can build fixtures.

I run a 250b pipe and love it for trail riding. Have tried many other pipes and like this one the best. Had a 330 big bore and tried the 350 pipe and liked the 250b pipe better on that motor.

I have 2 of the old lrd 250b pipes and I love them, one on my ct265 motor in my lsr, and one on my ct310 ported by jms performance and its on my Walsh. But I want to build a 370pv 4mil stroker motor for mx and the dunes, unless you have a better idea Arlan. I will have to call you and talk about a motor.

Thanks Arlen for sharing what ALL Pipe manufacturers should share...the best port timings for their pipe. Why but a Pipe that wasn't designed for the application at hand! I know Port timings are only the tip of the iceberg when designing pipes....so many different factors play a part in whether it's gonna work well or not.....but it's a good Starting point!

What's the advantages of the round silencer? Are you going to make a spark arrested oval silencer? Do you have some photos of the internals of the spark arrested round silencer? I understand if you don't want to share all the details. Thanks
It goes fast over bumps too!
