The 86 310R

Its got a fresh set of ITP Baja's on it now that arent flaking. Halls Inverts should be coming any time now! Still quietly looking for an ATC5 pipe from ESR, but the bike is really done and im on the fence about keeping it since the 500R kinda took its place lol

Nice conversion for sure but, The 500R Honda built was all new. Nothing from the 250R was used on it. Is that A Billy G. converted frame? That upside down brake pedel would scare me though. Hate to have it dig into the ground if and when you bottom out.

Chustle thanks it's one of nos350x's pipes. It's obnoxious lol I love sectional pipes though

And thanks Bill I am aware they used different parts I have seen all the arguments about the 500. Ya it's one of Billy's frames, and I haven't had clearance issues with the brake lever yet. I don't ride in extremely technical terrain with this bike it's more for trail riding and leisure enjoyment. If the brake lever is at risk of catching than I have other valuable parts that are more at risk lol

What would hit before that pedal? It's lower then the frame. Did you have to do that to clear the side cover? I only ask because I have never seen it done that way before. Don;t get me wrong I'm not bashing, I like to look and stance of it. Something about it looks better then most 250R/500 conversions i've seen

Thanks man! It's actually pretty common; mr350x, jeffatc250r, wild200x and a few others did it that way so the kickers get a full rotation out of the motor. Otherwise the kicker hits the brake lever in it's stock location and makes it a royal PITA to get these big motors to fire. Things that would touch the ground if the terrain was bad enough would include my overpriced inverts and related brake hardware lol. That and my 450r swinger. I hate riding rocky or rutted out terrain, just hard on the bike and not so much fun for me so I avoid parks with that type of riding

I gotta say I love your TPC's man! Especially yours posted above, just awesome bikes. My buddy Kevin Dazey here in St Louis is in line for you to make up a kit for him this year. I think he's going to route of just buying a complete frame and kit and swapping everything over. Anyways, I really want to make room for a TPC conversion in my garage sometime soon!

I have a fair amount of work left to do on the 500 though. Fork guards need bolted on, I'm swapping to a polished 10" front wheel and correct direction aimed tire lol, and a few odds and ends. I just finished building the bike in the last month and my first real ride out was two weekends ago. I love the rekluse clutch system and low end grunt this thing packs! And I like the stance on it too, so many people run the cr500 frames and ATC front end and it has just god awful rake to it. I think I have it just about right, and it handles great! I didn't want to go with 18" tires but the tranny is geared so tall I had to slow it down somehow. It's already got 42 rear tooth sprocket and a 13 torch up front (smallest front that will fit w the swinger combo). It rides better than I imagined!

Ok, I know back in the day when these 500's were done the trick was to use a YZ 250 kick lever for that very reason. Don't ask me what year though because I can't remember...lol...yep Kevin is on the list...I'm right there with you on the bike frames...never have liked using them for conversions.

JasonB  how long are your front forks?  I need to have mine rebuilt/shortened.  I like the stance of that 500.

Ya I ended up doing what a lot of the other guys run these days; blaster kicker that's sitting on a cr500 knuckle that was mill'd down to fit . I have a decompression release head that allows me to kick this thing over in flip flops. The blaster kicker is short which allows you to kick it over with the fenders in place, that is a big deal to me. Pulling fenders everytime the bike needs started is ridiculous

Goovrit I can measure them but I believe it's just about 3" that gets cut out to get the best ride height. Hall does it for 275 a set which includes a full rebuild. There's a new 'company' out there that will be offering up inverts in the next month or two that has a cheaper rate for shortenning forks and more economical triple trees too. My 350x will have one of their sets

When I release the TPC 500 that problem will be eliminated completely!!!

Would that have anything to do with the triples Louis made ;)

LOL, I asked that because Lou recently posted a pic of 10 sets of triples he did. But, now you got me wondering? Could be a few people, guess I'll have to wait and see...lol....hmmm...maybe the initials TT mean something.

It's so cool to see so many people making things again. I said it years ago on 3ww when people were asking if the manufactures/aftermarket would ever start making trikes and parts again and if would racing ever get going again. I told them the only way it would happen is if we do it ourselves...I was laughed at...that would be fun thread to bump...lol

I'm pretty sure people will be blown away buy what I have in store for the 500.
