Just to make a long story longer I'll add pictures.
I was searching for a swingarm, obviously not very hard because I didn't ask anyone on here. I was looking for a 88\89 length,86\87 front, no link swingarm. After watching Ebay and the 250r sites I finally saw something I could work with. It was a 88\89 front 86\87 length arm. At least it was a no link. It didn't have much gusseting in the front so I could cut out the middle and regusset. After receiving it I saw a crack at the shock mount...O.K. business as usual. I've never bought anything off Ebay that wasn't secretly damaged in some way. So I cut out the center, cut my gusset pieces, and took it to get the powdercoating sandblasted off where I needed to weld. When I got home I took an old swingarm bolt that I use as a beater and went to tap the center of the shock mount out to see what I had to replace. ....It was aluminum... Has anyone ever seen this before? It's a removable slug machined to fit in the hole in the swingarm(1") and receive the shock bolt. I'm glad the swingarm isn't cracked but I've never seen this before. I've had several no link arms(all the same brand) but this is new to me.
I know the pics didn't end up where I wanted them but has anyone seen this before? I guess Ill just make a new aluminum piece and soldier on.
