I always wondered about the plastic polishing buffing wheels. They turn at a slow RPM and do not seem to have any compound on them. The key is to not get it hot. So what happens if you put water on the buffing wheel?

Hmm not sure. Since there is little to no heat i think h20 would just fly off the wheel and or wad up the whee. The guy in the video did not use any compound.

Yes I saw that...so what does the polishing? Even plastic polish has something in it. Confusing!

Guys, I'm telling you, Zep High Luster floor wax at Lowe's Building supply, is the way to go.
Get you some latex gloves & a lint free cloth, dunk the rag in some of the Zep, squeeze it out & rub on a few coats allowing it to dry in  between a few seconds & you'll be surprised.
The latex gloves ?, for some reason a man just dont look right with glossy finger nails if you dont use them :sign0105::ride:.

I think the buffing action of the wheel acts like extremely fine sand paper. We have a machine at my job that plastic   passes through just from the plastic rubbing on metal parts the plastic signs that stuff up quick I'm guessing it's kind of the same principlejust the constant Rubbing

yes Neil we know you love that I haven't tried it myself yet. But I will. famous zep tip and you're clutch mod is all time famous:)
