Havent had a chance to mess with it again, been switching between 1st and 2nd shift and sometimes both in the same day, havent had a chance to do anything. Back to the normal 2nd's and normal 6 days this week. Waiting for my arms to show up then everything is off to powder. Hopefully I will get the head off for port work Monday

Our local guy Jay Riddle Racing in Morton IL. It will also be dyno tuned and flowed for my cam, piston, carb and exhaust. +1 valves all around, all Kibble parts. Carb will most likely go to Andy at Maul Tech for a bore when I send him my shocks. I was going to have Led do it but I want it dyno'd.

Quick pics of a bare bones harness in the making.
just a little info for your new harness... Im not sure of your background so forgive me if you already know this!!!

as you noticed Honda stock harness uses several different ground wires going from each branch to one common ...this is to lower the impedance to ground, don't remove too many grounds, but if you do be sure to use a larger gauge wire, to maintain the low impedance,

if too much circular mil worth of ground wires are removed the current will find the easiest path to ground, and sometimes that means pivot bolts are put into the path, causing the bolt to oxidize from electrolysis and seizing ....

Honda used small gauge wire when building the harness but used several to create a low resistance ground system, if you alter the total area of the ground wires too much you will change the way the ground system was engineered

Correct, and I do different things for different applications. I will get more into this and maybe even start a new thread just for this. This harness being theres no fan or lights will be pretty simple, however as you stated, grounds are #1 priority. I will be replacing some wiring, repinning and also checking terminal tension on both cdi connectors. I also ensure atleast 1-2 motor mounts ground the motor to the frame, if it had a fan I would run a ground from t-stat housing to the frame since I make jumper harnesses for the temp sensor to allow constant fan. It all depends on what I or someone else, and where the want the cdi, reg/rec mounted.

Lol, I was just getting ready to comment on 450r.org about that. On all the oem sets Ive ordered, Ive gotten white kickers for an 08', none have come with er inserts, just kickers. If you go to the microfiche It seperates r and er models.

Thanks. I figured that but someone posted on the 450 forum that it came with both. Must have been Maier or incorrect info. Thanks.

Need help deciding on color choices before powder. Have new white oem plastic, red Elkas, black bars, and Hipers, everything else can be pc'd whatever. Thoughts? My retro 459r pics are in the 450r pics thread in others section, I really like the blue Quad Tech hood I had, but everything is hard to match up to the Elka red...

Im thinking about using these Maul Tech graphics, he also has red, and the older flame style which I had on my 86'. I think the blue will stand out more against the red shocks. I will use a blue Quad Tech hood, and blue Hiper rings (maybe blacks?). Now I just need to decide color for the frame, arms and swingarm. Thinking about doing black on the nerfs as my bumper and grab bar will be black too.

Do a candy blue frame and candy red arms and swinger with black upper arms or something like that.
