Anyone have any tips or success on powder coating the front master cylinder? Will the level lens withstand the heat? I know I will need to completely dis-assemble.
Thanks

The part Has to hold up to the heat, there are some lower temp powders that kick off at around 340 (give/take) BUT its a cast aluminum part and needs to be outgassed---->> preheated higher than the powder cure temp to release any trapped gasses or air and to make sure all oils/fluid is burned off so a safe number if the powder kicks at 340 the part needs to handle close to 400 for a period of time at that temp <<---it would be my Guess that the sight glass-> if plastic<- wont handle it and if its actual glass it has to have a seal of some sort and when parts are heated the material will expand possibly killing any seal it had before<< Im not saying it cant be done or hasnt been done but I personally havent -- I wouldnt see any problem with someone doing it on a completely stripped down part though-- I do know if you dont outgass the part your running the risk off trashing the finish (ive done it both ways and not had a problem but I tried to skip it once and I got to strip the part and re-do it
