In another thread I asked about swing arms
http://trx250r.org/showthread.php?2540-86-and-87-swing-arms and I decided to go with the longer (stock length) swinger on the bike I am keeping. As I was checking the other suspension components between the two this is what I discovered.
On the shortened swinger (2 1/2" shorter than stock)
1) shock measures about 15 3/4" eye to eye
2) dog bone is about 6" cent. to cent.
Stock length swinger
1) shock is 16 1/4" eye to eye
2) dog bone 6 5/8" cent. to cent.
the dimension is the same on both from pivot to dog bone mount
I am assuming the shock and dog bone on the shortened swinger are from an 88/89 correct me if I'm wrong. The previous owner iced raced so if this is the case does using the 88/89 parts help lower the rear end and/or what is the benefit?
I was planning on just swapping over complete rear ends unless there are better suggestions.
