Vroomy....What Year Caliper Assembly did you buy ? Was it for a CRF450R ? Looks like Part#17 that rk88r specified is on the Crf450 from 04-12 ?

#13 in the diagram = Part# 45190-KZ4-J21 which is for a 02-03 Crf450r

To get #17 you needed a 2004-2012 Crf450R front caliper.....:(

Vroomy  I'm not positive on the year that's on mine. I know it's a crf though.

Here is what Andy from Maul Tech did, contact him for more details. "The rear caliper must be machined to center up the pads and we used an aftermarket aluminum 250R rear caliper bracket."

Vroomy, Just give the Honda shop this part# 45190-MEN-006 and they can order the correct one for you.....If they can't....I'd try a different Honda shop. :)

Am I missing something here I tried this and doesn't even come close to working. I ordered an 05 crf450 front caliper. If the mounting hole at the rear of the brake stay is lined up the front falls short of the brake stay by 1.5 inches? Plus it seems the caliper bracket is to thick to go between the brake stay and rotor.

I just replied to a PM with my yz125 caliper info figure Ill post it here to since I dug it up from a post I made on 3 wheeler world in 2012 (different username)

Cost was 29$ off ebay for a 1999 yz125 front brake caliper with good  pads used--caliper did not need any shims at all, just  had to slot the  bracket holes and remove some meat from the bracket  under the caliper  to give the rubber boot on the caliper a bit more  clearance--the  caliper going from the front of a yz to the rear of the atc is still  stopping in the same direction-(yz front left flip the caliper and it  goes on the right rear same direction stopping so your golden) there is  no parking brake on the yz so no need for a block-off(at least I always  remove the parking brakes from my quads) they mount up clean and there  is a very little amount of dremal work needed on the 250r brake stay if I  remember right I split the difference in the front and rear holes on  the brake stay maybe 1/8" per hole of meat removed so nothing major at  all and yz was a duel piston caliper
here is a picture of the 125 caliper on the atv---the ATC was a 1986 250r

Well I ended up making the crf450 front caliper work but it ain't worth it. Do not buy a 4-12 year. It will not fit. I ended up welding some metal on the OEM brake stay to make it work.

The calipers may be the same....does your mounting bracket on the caliper look like #13 or #17 on the parts fiche ? That's what Vroomy was having a problem with....the wrong bracket

crf 450 caliper works, you just have to oblong one of the holes in the brake stay.

was that the only modification or did you have to do anything to the caliper itself
