putting bottom end back together and my new +4 hot rods crank doesnt have a mark on the shaft to line up the gear. so i held crank at tdc and put the gear on with mark straight up then lined up outer mark with mark on counter balancer gear is this ok?????:grumpy:
89 trx5 pipe 38as carb esr330 pv cyl ported by BUBBA RAMSEY at BHP,+4 crank,cr ign,elka front shocks,lsr axle

Yep, just imagine there is a dot/mark at TDC of the crank and put the gear on.

If you look close Honda puts the mark on the crank at TDC. I think common sense will take over now.

ya that makes sense I just wasn't sure if it changed any angles at all (I've never held a stroke crank) to see were the pin actually goes

and I failed terribly at geometry

I was not referring g to you Barry. For some reason hot-rods started to leave the mark off. They probably figured it was TDC for OEM so its kinda like it never changed.

I was just curious about if the weights had been offset on a stroker I never really thought about that

I think you are referring to crank balancing. The cranks do not need to be balanced until the weight of the piston exceeds what your counterbalancer is set up for. The new +4 hotrods cranks are manufactured with the pin in a different location. It has not been moved as they have been re-manufactured in the past.
