Can't get that "sponge" out of my front brake system. I've bled then changed calipers and master cylinder and then bled and bled & bled the brakes and still can't figure it out. No leaks anywhere and can't hear and air or unusal sounds. Any suggestions?

Old brake hose will cause that as well

ck to make sure rotors are not warped or bent it can cause a spongy feeling when moving but not stationary.

Its spongy stationary. I bought some stainless lines hopwfully that's my problem

bleeding these things can be a pain.I have my own way that works for me.I start with rapid movement of the lever and watch the small bubbles coming up.I then bleed at the master by loosing the fitting while holding the lever,being carefull to not let air back in.all this has to be repeated sometimes.Once I have a firm lever I move to the wheels.Since the master is the highest point the air tends to stay there

if i have trouble getting the air out, i will take the master cylinder reservoir cover and tie the lever/pedal down and let it be for a couple of hours, then go back and re-bleed them. it has worked for me in the past.

also, make sure the banjo bolts are clean and the copper washers arent in bad shape.

don't get mad at me john,but you should not leave brake fluid exposed to the air any longer than possible..Im gonna try your way next time but bleed all that exposed fluid out

i couldnt be mad. i do many things wrong. i was frustrated in the past with brakes that wouldnt bleed out so i took this approach and it seemed to work. i might have just had luck on my side.

get yourself a syringe and a rubber hose that fits tight on the bleeder. push the rubber hose onto the syringe, suck up some brake fluid with it, open the bleeder and push the fluid from the bottom to the top

close the bleeder once you see the reservoir fill up and do the other side

pump the brakes about 10 times. on the 10th time, pull the lever all the way to the bar, open the bleeder, close the bleeder, let off the lever

do that a couple times on both sides and your brakes will be solid, if not you are either not closing the bleed before releasing the lever or you might have a bypassing master cylinder and need a new one

Put stainless lines on today. Prob fixed. Thanks to all who posted
