i have an 86 250r i recently just rebuilt since last year it only ran once and after i cleaned ithe bike it wouldnt want to run and barely had spark so i thought it was the carb and got an airstriker carb from bdt motorsports and still didnt run but since a couple days ago i used the other wiring harness i had and the switch cuz it was newer and got alot of spark but still doesnt run all it does is idle until you give it gas and it floods itself out was gonna have someone else look at it but want to see if its an easy fix first any help would be great  THANKS DUSTIN

Haha I just sent you a text saying to make a post on here.
Problem 1- you bought from bdt :p

I recommended changing pilot and needle clip, he saw no difference. Says plug is not getting wet either, is your float level set correct? Could be draining out the float bowl, is gas flowing into carb well?

Your first sentence is confusing because you said "after i cleaned ithe bike it wouldn't want to run and barely had spark so i thought it was the carb" if spark is weak this has no connection to carb

I see you have changed the harness and you believe that the spark is better, so now the best thing to do is to put the stock carb back on and see if it runs like it did. Then if it does put the air styker back on and tune it.

Factory ignitions in my experience run better on small spark plug gaps because the energy output have deteriorated over the last 25+ years I run .018 on my plug gap
Anyone looking for a great builder I highly recommend the following.
For CP products dealers I would recommend:
Arlan at LED(site sponsor), Pete Schemberger at Hybrid Engineering, Mat Shearer at Shearer Custom Pipes, Dennis Packard at Packard Racing, and Nate McCoy of McCoys Peformance.

Other great builders I also would recommend: Neil Prichard, Jerry Hall, Bubba Ramsey and James Dodge.

I can attest to that same plug gap. Made a massive difference on my R.

Sorry about the confusion that was just when I first bought it and cleaned it and it would do the same with a stock carb as well it's getting plenty of gas and spark plug is getting soaked but doesn't want to stay running tried jetting and setting the needle clip and no difference it just keeps flooding itself out and idk what the air striker carbs are suppose to be set at for a stock 250r

Do you have the airscrew adjusted properly? Give us a video of starting it, to it stalling, letting it idle for a while, and a pic of the plug after it stalls.
