Adjusting Elka Stage 3 shocks
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:01:24 PM »
I apologize in advance for the n00b question. Just got my 250r recently and its got elka stage 3 shocks all the way around, I've never had more than stock shocks.

The quad currently sits very low and I'd like to raise for trails. I know I can turn the preload adjustment ring down so that it raises the overall height of the quad. BUT where is the screw to loosen the preload ring so that you can adjust it? Says it takes a 3mm allen wrench. I've looked for the screw, I don't see it and it's making me feel like a complete dumb@ss!!!

Any help....gotta get this thing up a few inches so I can ride this weekend.

On the preload ring, look around it until you see one very small screw head that is a different color than the rest of the inlaid screws. That's where you loosen to adjust.
