Wondering what works best for all you guys cleaning your quads. I would like to see some polishes for chrome/aluminum. What keeps your plastics nice and shiny. How do you bring that shine back from the old girl sitting unattended for awhile. couple of things I use are

Worlds Easiest Metal Polish By Satin Gloss
Back to Black from Mothers

Looking for some other ideas that works good for you...

Anyone use the honda novus 3 step products??
Just wondering what Im shining up the R with this winter in my living..... I mean basement.:smile-new:

Totally Awesome for the crud & then pressure wash.
Aluminum Brite truck wash for all the aluminum stuff & then pressure wash.
Red Max #3 floor wax for the fenders & stickers. Red Max is a wax sold at Lowes Building supply, MFG by Zep Products. Lowes also sells all of the Zep products.
The Red Max will put a shine on those fenders like a clear coat. My daughters 4 year old Laker Custom Plastics black fenders look like new.

i used Pledge Future Shine once for my fenders and it worked pretty good.

I'll have to look into this RedMax Neil. I've been using a product called "Plexus" on my fenders and have been very happy with the results. As far as cleaning grime and what not off, I've always used Mean Green. Spray it on before a wash and let it sit for a bit then wash the bike. When everything dries up, i wipe most of the bike down with WD40. As far as shining things up goes, i typically use never dull and 000 steel wool. Mothers Billet also makes an occasional appearance.

I use Quick Shine floor polish from home depot on my quad, works nice, goes on easy, and you can add multiple layers if you want more or less shine

I agree with wretched73...Floor polish is the trick for fancy looking plastic. Apply multiple thin coats to build your base with cheese cloth so you don't get lint imperfections in the finish. Also do NOT get any degreaser (high ph) on the finish as it will eat away at the finish. About once a year I add 2 thin coats just to keep it looking like brand new plastic. Other than that, best shine you will ever get on plastic, period!

I discovered a good metal polish about 15 years ago that is still my favorite to this day. "Blue Magic" is a ammonia based metal polish/cream. Works awesome on aluminum and chrome. Rub on aluminum until it turns black, let it dry for 20 about min then rub it off with a clean terry towel. WaaaLaaa! Awesome!!! I buy it at Fleet Farm in Green Bay Wisconsin.

Why clean it at all :devilish: you're just gonna get it dirty again anyways lol.

Just kidding I usually just remove my plastic and pressure washing the crap out of it and then clean it with car wash soap/wax. never disappointed.

I use Maxima SC1 on everything except the seat, grips, pegs, shifter and kick starter. Spray it on, wait 30 seconds and wipe off. Makes dirt removal a breeze when you go to clean everything up again after a ride.
