After waiting, praying and hoping that I could get a nice set of fullbores for a decent price I finally found a set. They arrive and they don't fit my 86 frame very well. I took the rubber grommets off my OEM front fenders and put them in the FBs but the fenders don't line up with the little post that the grommets pop into on the frame... The posts I am talking about are where the front and rear fenders over lap. Anybody come across this? Short of rounding the hole on the fenders out I don't know what to do.

My fullbores fit on there but it was a stretch to get them there.... Maybe try loosening the front fender braces above the radiator and you can get a little more play that way?

I had them loose when I was trying. I am running a maier tank cover and I noticed that the fullbores wrap up onto the tank. Wondering if the extra width of the cover is making it sit higher....? And if I install an IMS 4gal will I have to trim the fenders? I hate cutting into them

From the day it is molded plastic shrinks. It is constantly drying out and shrinking through out its life. The other day I measured a sheet of plastic 120 1/4" in the sun. The next morning in the shade it measured 119 3/4" Had shrunk a half inch going from hot to cold. Try getting your plastic in the sun for a couple hours to see if it will grow any to help the fit.

Black front and rear with a quad tech hood. All for 300$ shipped! But they don't fit....

Longer front mounting brackets may help also.

My fullbores fit my Laeger narrow with no issues but had to be cut for the 4.0 tankIn my opinion the quality is better than maier but still not Oem.

I love the look of them and hate the fit. I'm 2 for 4 on Fullbores. Always have problems around the tank. One thing worth noting is that the OEMs allow for some adjustability in the rear. You can make the mount a little oblong like the stockers to help.

Well....I figured it out, removed the maier tank cover and fits like a glove. The added thickness of the cover is just enough to mess everything up.

If anyone can, I would like to see some pictures of how you trimmed your fullbores for an IMS 4gal tank
