Why are full flight a-arms so cheap?

I've seen full flight a-arms on eBay for like $300 or $400. The pictures make them look nice but a pos with a good paint job is still a pos. I just noticed a member has a pair for sale on the forum too. I would like to get some opinions on them. Has any one actualy used them?

I've heard of crap welds and pitiful ball joints. If ball joints go out, expect to spend 120-200 to replace with quality.
I ride PINNED! Therefore, no bdt in this household.

Cheap hardware.  We used to manufacture A-Arms and just for the hardware cost us around $350 per set for quality parts alone!  This should give you an idea of what quality you are getting.

Hmmm.... Well that's kinda what I expected. I assume they have been built & assembled  in China. Well I think the best thing we can take from this is people are still coming up with new parts to keep the old "R's" going, even if the parts suck!

Fullflights are made in the USA. andy is right. Hardware is terrible. I paid $110 for new hiems and then turned around and sold locally for $140. Worst investment I've made.

I believe fullflights and American star are the same. The set I had years back were made of heavy wall mild steal and were very heavy. All the hardware was junk and would not recommend them to my enemy's.

Friend of mine had a set of them.  They seemed to be alright for recreational riding but the powder coating was cheap.  The original red colour turned pinkish after about a year.  It was just cosmetic but another point to show the low quality of them.
