Thanks Rupp! Pretty cramped working environment... Wish I had a bigger garage, overwhelming at times. :sign0065:

I've been working on an old set of CAL FAB nerf bars over the last couple months. It took a while to get the reproduced nets back, but well worth the wait. Here's the before and after.

I've gotta set of these!

Those have got to be the most beautiful ATC and TRX250R builds I've seen. The blue TRX's were my favorites and it's what I hope to be able to accomplish as well. Every single part of both of those are exactly what I would do if money were no object with the exception of putting the 85 seat and white numberplate backgounds on the ATC to completely replicate Hart's ride. I remember reading those articles like yesterday. The final race of the season when Steve's TRX broke, giving Gentry the title. I can remember the pic of Wright standing on the edge of the track with his jersey off giving Gentry the thumbs up as he went by, knowing that was the championship riding away. There was nothing like the Team Honda of 1986 and the season they gave. You have certainly brought it back!

Thanks scawn!^^^

Scored a rare old HRC factory team Baja light from a new friend. It was used on the ATC efforts and then adapted to a team TRX in later years. The upper knobs allow the rider to adjust the pitch angle on the fly, per the flexible lower rubber mounts. Can't wait!

Also got a new (NOS) Wax seat for the retro Baja theme. Probably will be a while before I get to installing this stuff....

Keep in mind this needs a full restoration, but is in pretty good shape considering the abuse it's taken. Here is a top and bottom view. It has been modified from it's original ATC mounting to a TRX in later years. It's hard to see, but the bottom of the lights mount to a thick rubber mount, allowing for pivoting adjustment.

Awesome k10 I can't wait to see the rest of it. You know, the rack that it pins in to. I've fabbed up a couple myself so I'm interested to see how others have done it.

ytman,
This light bar "pinned" into a bracket welded to the frame on the previous owner's machine. I'd like to go with a bolt on configuration. Do you have any suggestions from your experience? Pics possibly?
Thanks!

Unfortunately I didn't take any close up pics of the brackets I made on my latest version but you can probably get the idea.
I used to run a bolt on "rack" and pin the light bar in like the one you just got so it could be put on and taken off quickly. Then you ride around with a big ol frame on the front of your bike.So I made smaller brackets using the upper shock bolts to mount the rubber grommets to(I used radiator rubbers) and another bracket using the steering stem bolts. It's still a quick release set up just without the rack.
This one is untested tho. The other one proved itself in the Vegas to Reno a hundred years ago.
My old racing buddy Charlie Lamson had a Honda issue light bar just like yours and we moved the pins on it to mount on the red rack in the picture.

Okay, cool. THANKS for the photos!! Helps me brainstorm a bit.
What I'm thinking is,  I'll try going from top shock bolt to top shock bolt under the plastic with a bridge like brace bracket, and have the two pins on the light bar frame come down through the hood, and into the bridge brace bracket w/rubber cushions.
Down through the hood is how it was previously mounted on the seller's TRX. He just had a the pin mount bracket WELDED to his TRX's frame. I would rather not weld on my freshly PC'd frame or modify the light bar frame any further if possible. We will see though....?? I don't know if you can tell by my pics, but it's already set up to bolt to the steering stem block.
It's a project for sure, but I 'm sure it'll be reasonably easy. Thanks again, ytman!

I did see that mount on there. It seems odd that it would have both rubber and solid mounts. Do you have to reach under the hood to pin it? I know it's gonna be bad a## you make good stuff. I had a mount that was directly in front of the steering stem and I didn't like what it did to the brake line and cable routing. I had to create a "passage" down the middle for them. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
