its a new event some new owners bought the local dunes in kermit tx and are trying to bring the place back to life. the overall size of the dunes there is bigger than little sahara lots of trails great area to ride we have races this sat ill try to get some pics up. the poker run on the dunes should be fun ill try to give a update on how everything goes

So the jack ass that originally bought it and put up a barb wire fence around his portion of the dunes is gone?

Got family in Kermit and friends in monahans    The dunes are fun and the place is huge.  We figure about 6500 acres from using google earth.    We usually stay on a pump jack spot or the place back by the pipeline when we go.

Never been there, I did not realize it was that much area.  6500 acres really?

Let me know and I'll give my buddy a heads up.  A seasoned tour guide is highly suggested.  Aside from Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, the place is pretty desolate.

Not anymore its getting very packed most weekends this morning it was packed already by 8am im leaving n a hour to go back staying 2 nights

Where at in Kermit Texas.  I live near Waco Texas. I like to check it out before it get hot for summer.

its off 115 a couple miles NE of town.  The pay spot to park/camp is further NE down 115, maybe a mile or so.  The pump jacks I park at are along off FM 874

I dont know what is going on with the pics in my post showing Kermit and Waynoka on the same zoom, here is the pic:
