Lower frame rail replacement

So I crashed. Crash sounds so bad. I didn't eat it or flip or get hurt. Little too fast, little too sideways. OK so I crashed. I did not have the bolt in my head stay. My motor tweaked and so that broke my motor mounts as well as the lower rail.
 WiFi sucks to be continued...

Chop chop! out with the old

the frame is METRIC square tube. I knew this to begin with but figured 1" square would be fine
I went with 1" tube 1/8" wall thinking the thick stuff would be good.

well I was wrong. it does matter! after cutting fresh metal and fitting it all in the correct place I installed my motor as a jig.

looks good ehh? well the motor sits too high and I couldn't figure out why until I put the old cracked rails next to the new metal. I need tube smaller then 1" seeing that we are weird in the US the closest to .867mm tube is 3/4". that will work. pictures are worth a thousand words.

so do it all again in 3/4". very close but you can see that 3/4" is just shy. I shimmed the new rail up so the motor mount would sit on it.

all jigged up and ready to burn.
