Bad news. Turns out my 03 CRF450R engine does not fit this frame. If anyone one knows what engine fits in this frame I would greatly appreciate the info. Frame and sub frame will be for sale when I figure out what engine fits in it.

Is it a width problem with the lower mounts?

Width and length. To narrow on the bottom motor mount and pivot bolt to lower mount to far apart, front mount to narrow also.

Hmm that's weird. Sounds like 02-03 have the narrowest mounts. Hopefully it's not set up for a 426

That sucks it don't fit. I would  have waited on the powder coat for the frame  just to fit the motor  first in case of modifications.  But it a very nice build  good luck. If you  were to sell the motor  pm me a price.  Thanks  rich

Thank you.
I didn't have the motor at the time I was building the roller. I just went with what the guy I got it from told me. Last time I do that.

With the help from Flp, I think we got the chassis figured out. Turns out it uses a 88-89 swingarm, and doesn't use the pivot bolt through the engine. Uses a 03 CRF450R engine. I checked the serial number on my engine and talked to the guy I bought my engine from. Turns out he changed the cases with some 05 cases. There is hope that I can use this chassis after all. Here are some pics of my chassis back in the day.

Cool pics!! I'm glad you got it figured out, looks like I better find an 05'ish motor for the frame you motor came out of

Finally got the engine set in the chassis. I got the sprockets to line up. It is not bolted up tight yet. I couldn't find any bolts long enough for the front mounts and need to weld a piece in for the lower motor mount. I also got the 88-89 swingarm on. I need to do a little trimming on the back of the motor. It is rubbing the swingarm. I at least I am getting closer and know my engine will work in this chassis.

Engine is in and bolted up tight. Time to start bolting on all the rest of the parts. FINALLY!
