Looks like a blast. Do those kart tires make you lose speed? How is traction compared to say 18's

I am are running kart axles so I can gear to the tires. Right now I am at 15/33 and get 60 mph. I am going down to a 28-29 rear. I can go all the way down to a 24 rear.

A big misconception is traction. Those tires are 9" wide so the contact patch is the same as a 9 wide big tire.

The guy on the Tri-Z used to race quads for many years, just changed over to the kart setup. He said he cant believe how well they hookup. He had it in his head that the small tires wouldn't get traction.

Here is a couple more pics. One is a guy with big tires.
This is during the heat and the track was super slick and my BHP motor was too much.

I wish there was racing like that around my area. Indoor track would be a killer idea.

This is awsome.I posted on a site a few years ago about this setup .Alot a people said it wouldnt work because your gearing would be to low .You guys proved this is the way to go.I saw how well this setup worked for Pine Lake aswell.Steve I have a pic of your trike as a screen saver.

Here is a comparison of a 12x8-6 Hoosier kart tire next to a 18x8-10 American Racer.

Eddie Bergman figured how to make kart axle fit in a stock carrier easy. My setup is on a 450 swingarm and everything is off the shelf bolt on. Works the same way on any carrier with bearings that are 62mm OD.
Eddie said he ran a GPS app and got 72mph on kart tires. He was getting ready for Pine Lake. I will be there next year with this setup.

I'm really curious if this cart wheel setup would work well on a trx?
