WTF Lonestar - Manufacturing Mistake or Normal?
« on: January 29, 2017, 11:48:41 AM »
Need some help on this one. I ordered a Lonestar footpeg frame back in September '16. I also asked if they would be kind enough to put a front propeg mount on "in the standard 250r propeg location". Well this is what ended up showing up last week. The mount would need nerfs that are close to 23" ctc spacing. Is this correct? I have never in my life seen a 250r (lonestar or other) with a propeg stud in this spot. I am thinking the pipe wont even clear because that's where it tucks through the frame.

Like to hear your thoughts on this one as it doesn't look right to me but have been assured by the lead sales guy that they put it in the right spot. If it is correct, who makes a 23" propeg nerf?

i have never seen the tube in that location.  most if not all 250R propegs are (16.5"-17.5").  pipe clearance, a arms/tire clearance.....

That's not right. I've never seen the tube in that location before on any aftermarket frame. 16.5" is usually where they're at

I think that will accept  trx450r nerfs on that spread.  But the pipe may not clear like you said.   What's the deal with chain guide on rear they send that with it. Or did you buy that yourself.  It's sexy

I would think the pipe would clear they have to know where the pipe fits

I'll have to test fit the pipe before going any further. Thought the 250r pipe hung down a little to the right of the frame rail.

I found some nice yfz450r nerfs with heel guards that look awesome and have a 22" spacing. Worst case they will work with a little tweaking.

Hontrx265r, have you seen a new LSR propeg frame with that spread recently?

Btw250, thats a chinese knock off "Acerbis" chain guide for. Pit bike I bought off Alibaba for 7$ and modified to fit on the 250r.

Looks good. I looked it up same bolt pattern as banshee chain guides.   I had a set of pro armor nerfs for trx450 and I think they measured 23 24outside  tried mounting them on 86 frame and ended up hitting the pipe.

Looks like the front tube, may be in the location where a pair of Rath nerf bars would fit onto the frame, but the tube itself looks to long. The Rath nerfs wouldnt need but like 3" of tube to mount the front of the nerfs.
Just guessing by looking at the pic.

Ended up buying the LSR nerfs designed for this chassis. Credit to LSR for trying to work this out and helping me out on the nerfs. They are 21" center to center and have been told by LSR they are built to fit the frame where they put the front peg stud. Interesting... 21" back puts the center of the rear peg half an inch forward of the front bolt for the foot peg on my frame.

Stay tuned for updates!

Ok, scratch that... more smoke and mirrors and stalling tactics. Suddenly its 4-6 weeks out before they can ship my nerfs... what is this being made in china or something and has to travel around the world? 21 inches back doesn't get even within questioning distance on the rear placement. I wish they would just step up to the plate and admit they made a mistake and fix this without digging a deeper hole.

Note to anyone thinking of going with Lonestar products, buy through a middleman or someone with some leverage who can back you up if things dont work out. They take your money and give you lip service otherwise.

Check this thread out. It looks like his is right behind the frame down tube. Yours is in front of it. He also used Rath nerfs. http://trx250r.org/threads/3808-2014-Lonestar-build?highlight=oldschoolr

I wasn't happy about that either, the pictures on the website shows the old design. Rath was able to do the bend the way i wanted kinda like the old ac nerfs.
