Well this was a fun round. Hurricane Harvey was a couple hours south of us and gave the track plenty of water for the weekend but didn't cancel the races. Thomas Brown came out and humbled the whole field by lapping most everyone a couple times, even the Expert class. I got 2nd on the holeshot behind Doug and followed him around for a few laps. Wayne, an Expert class rider, came down for this round to ride with us and passed us both on the first lap and ran away with 1st place. Doug ended up casing an uphill double and went over the bars. He was ok and I moved around him and held him off the rest of the race for 2nd place. I got 8th overall so I'm not terribly disappointed. First time out with the new Fasst Flexx bars. And it would have helped if I would have wired my grips back on so I wasn't constantly having to slide them back on. That and my controls weren't super tight so I was reaching for them every other corner it seemed like. That and because of the adapter I had to use from 7/8" to the 1 1/8", the bars were a good bit higher than I like and I did notice some arm fatigue I've never had before but I'm sure all that attributed to it. Adjustments made and a different bar mount on order. Hoping for a better ride next round.
