I have been having a running hit problem and decided to check the water pump tonite   This is what I found    Would the difference in the cavity area restrict flow ?

looks like the cavity in the aftermarket cover was not milled enough (in length) to make sure that no restrictions exist.

I checked a few of my aftermarket water pump covers....all matched up with the separator plate like the oem does. What pump cover is that?

Merrill does make good parts....Just like everybody else in this industry things go wrong from time to time.....I have a 370 with a Merrill water pump cover on it with zero overheating issues and that's after two full seasons of racing....
