01/00 Cr cdi try?
« on: May 08, 2019, 05:16:01 PM »
I know this is a long shot, but would anyone have a 01 or 00 cr cdi I could try? I think mine is crapping out, I don't want to commit to $200-$300 if it's not the cause. I would gladly pay for shipping both ways. If not, then this set up will go up for sale. Thx.

You might have better luck shipping your CDI to someone to test it.

I still think it is a ground issue. Since it doesn't do it all the time

It ran fantastic on the first R ride and up till that Sunday on very last ride. Then after climbing the drag hill, it all of a sudden started running like garbage cutting out real bad when I gave it gas. I had to be towed back. Now it's doing the same thing on my brand new motor when I give it some thumb it acts like a throttle limiter. Hard to explain properly. It idles great, but blip the throttle it cuts out. Not a jet issue, electrical for sure. Ran a ground from coil and no changes. Bought a new coil, but the company sent a cr500 lol.

If it's say a cdi issue or stator I'd hate to buy a replacement for big money, but a hpi is $320 something complete.

I haven't yet maybe I will. I'll run the ground to the cylinder here soon when I get time to tinker with it.
