1986 radiator hoses
« on: July 01, 2019, 06:14:35 PM »
Hello folks, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some silicone radiator hoses for my 86' trx 250r?  I've been combing the internet and everything comes up 87'-89'.  The OEM part numbers for the 86'-87' models are the same but different from the 88'-89' model years.  Can the 88'-89' hoses be made to work on the 86' model?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Have a great day!

Welcome to the site. Those eBay guys have always listed those hoses in error. I have an 88 so those listed work for me. Someone here will be able to help.

F-Red,

Thanks for the welcome to the site.  I've actually been a member since August of last year lol.  I've spent a cubic ton of time on this site reading through different posts on various topics.  Such a GREAT resource for information with the 250r!!!  I'm in the home stretch of my 86' build.  Still need to start a thread for that and get some pics posted.  As with most, one thing led to another and it turned into a full build from the ground up.

Of all the things, these radiator hoses have been one of my biggest hang-ups as far as finding anything to replace the stockers.  Hoping like you said, someone will chime in with that golden bb of knowledge and point me in the right direction.

Thanks for checking in on the thread and the input about all the ebay sellers.

Congrats on the renovation. A simple upgrade can turn into a snowball. Well worth the effort and money when completed. Self-Gratification! If I remember correctly, I think some guys just manipulated the available hoses on the radiator nipples. Do a search, you find some info. Good luck.
