I converted an 88 stator today to 89. While I was there I found that the ignition wire wasn't crimpted properly at fhe factory surprisingly and a few wire strands had broken.
If you like I can look at your stator and refurbish the connectors if needed. A quality harness with new connectors is only one half obviously. The stator side should be in good shape as well ideally.
