After installing the engine I lost track of documenting the rest of the project. It fired up on the 2nd kick on July 15th & has been down the driveway only twice since than for a grand total of about 1 mile worth of riding. While rebuilding the carb I noticed it had a cracked jet tower so I swapped main bodies with a spare i had. My preliminary jetting was pretty rich so now it's down to getting the carb dialed in. After I put the freshly painted pipe on I realized I suck at sealing pipes so I had to take it back apart to seal the slip joint. Now it's leaking at the exhaust flange so back apart one more time.lol...

Joe's diamond in the rough is done for the most part. I need to fix a carb fitment issue & get it tuned than I might be swapping to an LRD pipe if it will clear the beautiful oem plastic.

When was the last time you saw white oem plastic this shiny?

Thank's, I use my wife's Canon Rebel T1i. It could use a better lens but it works pretty good in stock form... The steering stem is the spare OEM stem from my wife's R. I had to put it in Joe's R to get it going because I cut the flag off his old stem so Loren could use it to make an extended anti-vibe stem which will be getting picked up at the meet I do believe... I'm modifying the top plate of the old cut up stock stem to work on the anti-vibe which will allow the use of the stock 86-87 headlight.

Looks good Kevin. Joe is lucky to have such a detail oriented mechanic on his payroll. I would have just painted everything black and told him to be happy lol. I can't wait to see that old sob out on the dunes in a few weeks!

Got a little update on Joe's 86 Oregon R. It unfortunately lost a lower rod bearing on Saturday morning at the West coast R meet. Joe was able to get almost 6 days riding out of it however since he went down on Monday. He dropped it off at my house on Tuesday last week, I got it all cleaned up Wednesday & by Thursday had the engine out & cases split. The hotrods long rod crank I ordered will be here today & I'm currently researching numbers & measurements to find the same oem case bearings for much less. Already found the Toyo 8 ball CR500 crank bearings with both crank seals for $52 on ebay! Those bearings by themselves are $37 each if there in a Honda bag with a Honda p/n.
