04-05 450r rear master cylinder
« on: June 06, 2020, 12:48:25 AM »
I broke my 250r rear master cylinder. Cant get the broken snap ring out and now the body is broken from trying to get it out and I couldn't get myself to pay for a 250r one and had heated of someone putting a 06 and up 450r one on and welding the little tab on from the 250r but I found a 04-05 one with the entire rod being threaded and had a longer pedal mount on it (I dont know the correct term for it) but It was supposed to be here today and it isnt here yet so when i get it I'll continue with the thread, just posting this so I dont forget lol.

All 450r master are the same.
All you need to do is drill out the threads on the master.
If you need a 250r plunger I believe I have one still.

By drill out threads do you mean thrill out the mounting holes? And It got miss sent to washing ton so hopefully tomorrow I'll get it and start playing around with it
And i should be able to get my plunger out if you think a band saw would be able to take the top of it off without hurting the plunger.

On the 250r the threads to mount the master are on the frame.
On a 450 it is on tje master cylinder. Therfore you need to remove tje threads so you can bolt it properly on the frame,, don't need 2 set of threads. Hope that makes sense.

The mounting holes on this master cylinder weren't threaded and they actually were enlongated so that it would have some adjustability. I actually didnt have to do anything to it other than drill out the holes that attach it to the pedal. I am actually am riding today and all weekend and it seems to be doing good. If I wasn't in a pinch I wouldn't buy it because the plunger is just barely short and so your pedal seemes far down and like there is nothing there but other than that it is working. I did have this done a couple days ago but my internet still sucks so I couldn't post pictures or anything because I kept trying the pictures. And then I forgot about it
