HAHA so true!  For all I know, polish and chrome was the in thing 20 years ago!

20 years ago? Polished aluminum & chrome will never go out of style no matter what Loren says!

Ya Joe like Loren says you've been there.  It's not one of the big tall dunes - it's almost the opposite - it's a decent incline but very long and doesn't have the "J" at the bottom since you're racing the opposite direction.  So probably why it wouldn't stand out in memory.

Hello my name is Jim. I am a new member and would like to attend the Winchester 250r meet. I have a 24' toy hauler with a 431 Puma inside it . Are there any spots left?

Hey Jim - Iíll post a few links for you depending on whether you want to sand camp or day use.  It looked like Discovery Point was filling up but sand camping, Half Moon Bay, and day use should be open still.  Though August seems to fill up quick so you might considering reserving a spot (if you decide to camp rather than day-use).

Some of us will be in the 2 spots just next to the 3rd parking lot.  I think the capacity is 5 rigs per spot which we are already over that capacity.  Though last year we didnít have any issues being over capacity.  Youíre welcome to camp with us but it may be crowded and should the rangers enforce the limits, Iíd hate to make anyone leave!
That being said, folks tend to stage all over - condos to sand camping to day use.  So there will be plenty of us out and about, and can always come hang in our camp!

Where to camp & stage:
- Sand Camping:  https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/234196

- Umpqua Dunes RV Park (Discovery Point):

- Half Moon Bay Campground:

Howdy Jim. Unfortunately the two group sights are already over capacity. If you check on recreation.gov you may find some camping next to us. We are in 46&47. I just checked and see plenty of sights open if you are willing to sand camp.

Hello Joe and Loren,
Thanks for the info. I would prefer to sand camp so I will get a site on the sand. I will look you guys up at the meet. Have always wanted to attend the R meet but just have not made it happen. Looking forward to it. May be bringing one of the boys from LED.

Right in Jim!  KC was saying he was talking to you about the meet today.  Sounds like you and Arlan have some history riding 250Rís?  Either way, be great to meet you and hang out!

Oh My,
I will have a beer waiting for you with your name on it. That is a long way. Looking forward to chatting with you about sand ridding in your nick of the woods.
