Atv talk podcast
« on: January 19, 2021, 09:05:06 PM »
you guys have to check out the Atv talk podcasts with Leonard Duncan.  If any of you are like me.   I got my first 3&4 wheel action mag in 93’.  From then on, I followed everything Atv from Mickey Thompson to gnc, gncc, Tt, worcs, score, BITD, pont de veux and freestyle.  Atv talk adds more depth to all the stuff I read in magazines for 27 years. I’m hooked.

Haha I just sent this to Joe tonight.  Been listening to a few over the days.  Fun facts I've learned so far:
- Doug Eichner's home track was Washougal, WA (close to us, local MX track). Jeremiah Jones & Doug would test Suzuki Z400 prior to release at Washougal.
- Paul Turner went on to found RockShox suspension company for mountain bikes.

I listened to the podcasts for 7+ hours all the way home from Glamis.  Byrd and Hitt are probably my favorites so far. Eichner was good too.  Guy was a beast.  Did pont de veux iron man.

It's funny, I'd been following the page for a few weeks and didn't listen to anything, then a couple days ago listened to 1 and like you say Michael, now I'm listening to them all the time!  The one where Lenny's (Leonard's) kid interviews Lenny is pretty cool.  It's funny hearing Paul Turner tell everyone to only call Leonard Lenny and to call Loren LD.  Really sheds a different light on these folks.   Glad he's doing the podcast.

I got all the magazines.  Barry Hawk was the king in those days.

I liked reading about the quad set up.  Watching and or attending races not so much

Have any of you listened.  Byrd, Hitt, and Walsh Are really good.  A lot of the are west coast desert guys.  Cody Jansen’s digging deep is good too.  More current guests like weinen and Hetrick.

I finished episode 32 today.  Joe Byrd was my favorite so far.  Lenny announced today that next weeks episode will be Joe Byrd #2.  I have noticed major improvements in audio from the early ones to the current ones.  Thank You Michael for posting about this.  I feel like I gained so much knowledge of the history of the sport by listening to these podcasts

Paul Turner is good too.  I like the desert guys too but they’re not as nationally known.

The money that Joe Byrd talks about is crazy.  I would have never guessed that there was even 10% of that in ATV racing.

Just started listening to Cody Janssen's  "Digging Deep" podcast a few days ago. The Shane Hitt episode is pretty funny. Some great stuff in there. Also the first Kory Ellis episode was really good. I haven't listened to ATV talk yet with Duncan. Gonna try it out today
