I am currently going thru the motor on my 250r barn quad. I can’t seem to find the metal plate water pump separator. Is this part necessary?

the mechanical seal is still available from honda. There is a yamaha part that is the same dimensions and cheaper.
$34.31 Yamaha SEAL, MECHANICAL (11H-12438-10-00)
$40.44 Honda 19217-657-023 SEAL, MECHANICAL
