85 250r built from spare parts
« on: June 15, 2021, 06:02:31 PM »
A few years ago I was checking on my spare parts and at the time I only lacked a few parts from building a full liquid r trike .1st pic .
.I had a few frames so I took the best one or so I thought  it has some pin holes in it so I shelved it for awhile. 2nd pic. Skip ahead a couple years I was at a race talking to a friend  about my project he said he had a good frame but it was powder coated black. 3rd pic. I bought the frame and a bunch of other parts for the liquid r. Over the past several weeks  I have it almost completely done.I was able to start it today about 4 year after I was thinking about building it.

Some pics of it as I was building it.Second to last pic of it mostly done the rear fender and seat are from my other 85 250r. Still have to paint handle bars and it needs full brake job.Im going to order a black seat cover and some more red accents like UPP intake, chain slider, brake hoses and maybe grab bar.

I have 2 liquid r trikes now and several aircooled rs and a couple 200xs. When Im done with this one I'm going to build an 84 r from spare parts.Im thinking about 2 different seat covers one is black with red logo or black with white logo. If I go with the white logo I have a white front fender aswell.

I bought a 04-05  trx 450r swingarm I'm going to be installing in this trike.I got a DG style adjustable link fitted to the swingarm and I installed my stock pivot sleeves. Also going to use my 86 style bearing carrier and brake setup for now.I have the 450r carrier  just needs new bearings.

I raced tt with the 450r swingarm setup the trike handles totally different. It corners alot better seams  to hold a line better.
