88 replacement gas cap

Is there a Honda cap that crosses over? I saw mention of 450r or 400ex but there was no answer. Thanks

I will go reconfirm this but I'm pretty sure the cap on my 1990 xr250 was the same as the cap on my 88 tank: https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1990/xr250r-a/fuel-tank

from some internet searching, I believe 04-05 only 450r will fit 88/89, not the 06+ 450r.  the 86/87 tanks have the inserts on the sides and are same cap as banshee, atc250r, old style IMS, and host of other models.

I just checked & the cap from my XR250 is the exact same as the one on the 88 tank & the XR cap is still available.

Great, what year xr250? If I ever get a ignition that will make it run right I’ll replace the cap🤬.
