Congratulations on the new purchase.  Hoping to see a build thread.

By chance have you heard anything from John Arens?  I have not.  It’s been years since Arens said he was going to build frames.

Thank you! I’ve been looking for a while. I’ve gotten sick of having to tear down and repair the cracks on my OEM frame. It turns out that racing is hard on stuff, especially 40 year old stuff.

I’ll try to do a build thread, if I can find the time. It’ll be more of a frame swap than a full rebuild, though.

John was the chairman for D-14 XC last year. I talked to him at a couple MOXC/D-14 combined races about making frames again, selfishly for me but in general as well. It’s the same old response. He’s got a few other projects to finish up and then he might be making some more. I was hoping to be able to play the racing series angle and have an in. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Thanks Wes.  Good luck on your racing this year.

Very unfortunate about new frame availability.  I think shops that promise product but never produce need to sell off their jigs and fixtures or have someone take over.  An investment group of sorts.  Business management group.

Do you mind if I ask what you paid?   I’m considering selling my Arens frame.  You can message me if you don’t want to broadcast it to the public.

$3,200 shipped. The shipping quote that he shared with me was ~$250.
