Heel guards
« on: December 18, 2024, 03:39:31 PM »
Heel guards have been a wish/project list of mine for far too long.  I tried working with 2 ATV parts shops over the years.  Both times I left multiple frames, heel guards and foot pegs (and a pocket full of cash) to get samples done.  Both times I took my stuff back because I was promised and promised a sample but nothing came of it.

Fast forward to the current date.  After getting hurt 2 times in 4 years I think it’s time to make my own.  I ordered some pre bent tubing for mock up.

For reference here’s AC Racing Bkackline nerfs with 86/87 IMS heel guards.

Not sure if I’ll do a netted version or the “plate” style.

ac racing and rath both have heel guard options... why are you trying to make your own?

I have 4 sets of non heel Guard AC Racing Blackline nerfs and 4 sets of IMS pegs.  Utilizing what I have.

Would prefer the the sheet back. Mine always failed at the mounting area. The material thickness used was too thin. When beefed up, no more cracking.
