Internally rusted pipe repair

I have a TRX-5 pipe that ended up with heavy internal rust due to a coolant leak. I didn't realize the pipe was still full of coolant when I parked the R for about a year. It rusted the pipe & the inside/core of my FMF Q-silencer. The turbine core portion of the silencer was almost completely rusted out & non salvageable. Looking on here & other places for idea's on how to fix the pipe/silencer I saw a post by rsss396 about making a wire brush out of a piece of cable to remove the scale from inside the pipe. It worked great to get the scale out & prep in for the rust remover. I started with the silencer as a test piece & it came out looking like almost new so than I went onto fixing the pipe. The chemical I used is CRC Evapo-Rust & I gotta say that stuff works amazing. It's a bit on the spendy side at $28/gallon but the end result was worth it considering how much used 5 pipes go for these days. For the silencer stinger/core I made a trough out of 2x4's & lined it with 6 mil visqueen, that took 2 gallons of evapo-rust to fill. Same procedure to soak the pipe but I used 2 2x4's stacked on edge. If I was going to do it again I'd use 2x8 or 2x10 to make the trough. For the pipe it took 6 gallons which it would be cheaper to get a 5 gallon bucket + 1 gallon. Soak time is dependent on how bad the rust is but I let everything soak for 6 days.

The beauty of the Evapo-Rust is that it's water based & reusable. After soaking the pipe & silencer I rinsed them really good with water, blew them out thoroughly than heated them up with a heat gun to evaporate any residual water inside than I sprayed boat engine fogger in the pipe to prevent any flash rusting. Overall it worked very well, didn't hurt the chrome plating & made the pipe usable again.
