Derek Nye's Doug Roll desert racer from 1992
-
It's rad that he's racing on stock tires.
-
Love those old school picts. Thanks for sharing
-
I love the how those bigass baja lights look. Definitely way better looking than a led light bar.

X2, just fits right with the era.

Makes me wish I could go back in time! Very cool pic

I’m glad you guys like the pic. I’ll post the build sheet on this desert R later today. I will also post other desert R builds.

Agreed. Baja lights are gangster.

Haha seriously. I think about this a bit when I go riding. Most everyone is on newer machines, SXS's, etc. And you don't realize how rare it is to have these 30 year old machines that are still upkept and running. Pretty cool stuff!

build specs

5.2 gallon Schoonmaker tank. Holy cow. I could ride that thing to town! Lol

Another desert R

Croat are those front tires what they called sidewinders? I have only seen them in magazines years ago.

Check this out. Owned by FearlessFred. Anyone know what happened to him? I’d sure like to know if this ever got restored.

There’s a ton more quads and two strokes at Oregon Dunes than there is at Glamis and Dumont

I need to post the new designs from X travel suspension. They have some new designs similar to the ones posted and the old Dean sundahl stuff

Beep Beep. Get out of my way! Cable operated air horn set up.

Lance Schoonmaker tank

I believe the 4th post back (the quad with the big Ricky Stator sticker) is Ricky Stator and or Scott Prather at the Baja 1000.

DR&D

I know they like those tall seats for long desert races but they sure are ugly.
-
Cool

Is that a different subframe other than the standard lobo? Any details about this one?

Good eye. It looks to be a wide XC style grab bar. Unfortunately I do not have any other information on this one.

I wonder how many gallons that is.

Parker 400

Holy cow I just saw the pic of that ATC fender tank thing. I bet it carries enough fuel to double the weight of the trike, that would be a suspension tuning nightmare!

DRD&D/Duncan Racing built CR500 powered 250R built for desert racer Carmen Cafro back in the early '90's.
