Anyone have any experience with HRE ATV?  Are they still in business?  He has built some nice 250R based hybrids.  Curious why his frames aren’t more popular.
Website is www.hreatv.com

Lounge / Atv talk podcast
« on: January 19, 2021, 09:05:06 PM »
you guys have to check out the Atv talk podcasts with Leonard Duncan.  If any of you are like me.   I got my first 3&4 wheel action mag in 93’.  From then on, I followed everything Atv from Mickey Thompson to gnc, gncc, Tt, worcs, score, BITD, pont de veux and freestyle.  Atv talk adds more depth to all the stuff I read in magazines for 27 years. I’m hooked.

Duner / New 21x12-8 Skat trak gliders on champion bead locks
« on: January 07, 2021, 01:58:56 AM »
I won a little cash on fantasy football this year. Decided to buy myself a new set of paddles.  Had the ole champion beadlocks since the mid 90’s so decided to use them. Got the wheels modified and the new gliders mounted up.  Happy with the turnout. Just a bit taller and wider than the SS2’s that I’ve ran for years which is what I was aiming for. Glad I went with a 68” roll out 21” tire. Gonna test them out at Glamis next week.  Can’t wait.

I want to Mod this inner reinforcement ring both to lighten it up and improve the aesthetics. What do you guys think Is the best way to do it?  Design?  I’m going to dismount the tire and I have access to a lathe and mill.

Suspension and Chassis / Fox float shocks
« on: February 29, 2020, 05:58:16 PM »
Anyone have any experience with fox float shocks?  Just did some trading and picked up a set of gen 1 fox float evols.  Hoping to smooth out the choppy dune ruts from tire tracks.  Can’t seem to get a traditional spring shock soft enough in the initial bump stage.

Lounge / Neil Pritchard tribute
« on: November 19, 2019, 01:06:10 PM »
Hey guys.  I am sure most of you have heard the sad news by now.  The 250r world lost a legend on Monday, November 18th, 2019.   Most of us have been on these forums for a long time and have known Neil through these forums for a long time.  I always enjoyed Neil’s southern charm and wit.  He had a way of putting things that always made me smile and chuckle.  Neil was not only a 250 R legend but a genuine good guy and a loving husband and father from what I could tell.  I never met him in person but you could tell what kind of guy he was from years of posts on the forums.  As a tribute to Neil, please post anything you would like to share about your experiences with him.

Elka shocks 19.25” long set up for these arms with a 260 lb. rider.  Set up soft for dune riding by Noleen J6.  Shocks could use a service.  Great shape. No dings.

Engine and Bottom End / New LED HPI ignition
« on: February 28, 2019, 10:33:51 PM »
What do you guys know about LED’s new HPI ignition?  Pros? Cons? Set up?   There is some info on Facebook about it.  Says the cost is $330.  Has a lighting coil.   It says you have to set it up with a dial indicator.   Not sure how involved that is.  I’m still running a TRX ignition. A 330 on race gas can be a bit of a bastard to start.   The cost of the CR ignitions are getting ridiculous and you still have to do something for lights.   So what do you all think about it?

Duner / Polished or black?
« on: February 28, 2019, 10:24:44 PM »
What do you all think?  Polished/dull or black wheels?  Kinda tired of polishing.  The light wasn’t too good on the black pics.  Hipers are going on my 450R.  Thinking about painting my wheels.

Duner / Another paddle thread
« on: January 06, 2019, 03:07:25 PM »
I’m thinking about trying some skat track gliders.  I’ve been using sand skate 2’s the last 20 years.  Not worried about drag racing.  Just fast duning and want a good tire to follow.  We ride “follow the leader” style. I hate haulers, edges, and sand stars.  My skates would tend to throw sand low instead of right in someone’s face.  I’ve heard gliders are good to follow. Thinking 20 or 21”. 8” wheel. Probably 9 or 10 paddles.  Not worried about maximum traction either. Just wanted to get opinions from those that have tried them.

Suspension and Chassis / Roll design chain slider
« on: November 08, 2018, 09:59:20 PM »
Anyone know where I can get a chain slider like the one pictured for a roll design lobo swingarm?  I’m running stock frame and my chain rubs the front of the swingarm.  Looking for this style slider to protect it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I think Bear81 used to sell them on eBay but I don’t see it listed anymore.
