Re: Trying to decide on what 350cc kit to run.
So after talking with Pete for a while once I can get my hands on a ESR 370 Engine Builder Cylinder kit I'm going to have him build me a 391cc. He said for the $ it is the route that he would go for cylinders. I'm going to order up a 4mil Stroker Crank this week and then basically just waiting until Eddie gets caught up and can make me a cylinder.

Eddie said he is a little behind on stuff but Pete said give him a few weeks and he should be able to produce a cylinder. Most likely going to put my YFZ 450 up for sale now as that was just a temporary ride until I could find a good 250R. Granted I pretty much built that thing more than I really needed to. So instead of a 50hp 4 stroke I should have in the neighborhood of 75-80+ hp out of the 391.

I'll be running a 40.5 PWK carb and a LED 350G exhaust. So I'm hoping to be in the mid to upper 70s for HP.

I can't wait to get this build moving along!!

You're going to be a happy camper. Pete is responsible for some of the best running 250r engines in the business. Especially when it comes to dune/drag setups.

Keep us posted! There haven't been many engine build threads on here in awhile. So we'd love to see one!

Photobucket So I know most everybody has seen Photobucket's transition to a fee based service. I got tired of hearing about it from them, so I decided to pull all of my pics off their site.

There's no option to download an entire album using their website, so you have to download every. single. picture. individually.

However, I found that if you download the Photobucket app to your smartphone, you can select as many pictures as you want at one time, and download them to your phone. Then just transfer them to your computer using whatever method you choose. Saved myself a few hours doing it this way.

Hope this helps.

Re: CP Industries cylinder Well.......looks like I need to start throwing a few $$$ into the fun fund for this cylinder......

But I can't help but think of what we'll need for transmission and clutch components in order to handle this power. I know there's stuff available but it sure as hell ain't cheap.

Re: Haven't seen your R's 1. Here's my no-link frame when I initially purchased it.
2. Then after I found a Duncan PC2000 275 for the first engine build in that chassis.
3. Pic in the creek is after I threw an LED350 in it.

Re: First Time Starting the R in TWO YEARS - Leak Down Tester Questions
Made this one with parts from home depot:
& I air it up with this:
To use it on a boyesen rad valve I use this downspout adapter:

I just placed my McMaster Carr order to make one just like this. I scrapped the bladder pump idea, i'll just use a bike pump.

Thanks for the ideas.

Re: shocks
I dont know if all XC are like this, but I finally got all my stuff to be legal to ride the national forest in texas.  lots of big sand whoops like you find on dune trails, but also tons of 3-4" tall tree roots that were basically like ridding a trail scattered with bricks.  Very square edged and constantly yanking the bars around.  Im sure a steering stabilizer would help the side to side, but I want to ask about shock brand/rebuilder that set up shocks for really rough low-mid speed stuff, but still be able to handle jumps and whoops like you find on MX.

?

Might be helpful to talk to a reputable shock builder that does a lot of XC stuff. Derisi is the first builder that comes to mind.

Are you running Flexx bars or a precision bar mount? That might help on the smaller stuff too. Flexx bars work wonders for me

Re: Atv talk podcast Just started listening to Cody Janssen's  "Digging Deep" podcast a few days ago. The Shane Hitt episode is pretty funny. Some great stuff in there. Also the first Kory Ellis episode was really good. I haven't listened to ATV talk yet with Duncan. Gonna try it out today
