Engine and Bottom End / First Time Starting the R in TWO YEARS - Leak Down Tester Questions

I've been pathetically absent from this forum, and it's time to get back into it. Started the 250r up last night for the first time in ALMOST TWO YEARS. It revved to the moon uncontrollably, so I want to make a better leak-down tester this time around, and pressure test before i troubleshoot any further.

I'd like to use some sort of hand pump, like one found on a stethoscope, and put an inline low-pressure gauge on it as well.

Does anybody have a any pics or links of what they're using? I've got a list of stuff on McMaster Carr i'm ready to buy, but I'm not finding much on the hand-pump part. I suppose I could just use a bike pump.

Here's what I'm using right now. I previously pressurized using an air-compressor, which I absolutely don't want to do again.

So I know most everybody has seen Photobucket's transition to a fee based service. I got tired of hearing about it from them, so I decided to pull all of my pics off their site.

There's no option to download an entire album using their website, so you have to download every. single. picture. individually.

However, I found that if you download the Photobucket app to your smartphone, you can select as many pictures as you want at one time, and download them to your phone. Then just transfer them to your computer using whatever method you choose. Saved myself a few hours doing it this way.

Anybody in Michigan know if Magic Racing is still around? I used to order a ton of shit off their site back in the day. I think Rocky Mountain and Motosport might have cut into their online business. I can't find their website either.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / New no-link airbox with Robl G5 intake

Finally picked up a Robl G5 450r intake from Troy, and had my buddy at HMF exhausts fabricate a no-link airbox for me. I was worried about the end product as the no-link is notorious for terrible intake and airbox setups, and I wanted something that I could easily seal up for XC races and what not. My guy hit it out of the park and I couldn't be happier. It will clear the shock with no problem and should make a ton more power. He made new mounts for the front and integrated the ESR brake reservoir holder into them. I also had him add a 1'' drain hole to make sure whatever water got in the box got out in a hurry

I was tearing apart my engine to replace the center case gasket due to an air leak when I noticed this rust/corrosion mark on the base gasket:

I'm not sure how water got to that point unless the allen head screw on the bottom of the cylinder is leaking?

Lounge / Best UTV for farm/hunting

I'm trying to pick out a UTV for use on our family's tree farm in Ohio. The two Sportsman 500 quads we have aren't cutting it anymore. It'll be used mostly for work (firewood, dirt, mulch, etc.), and hunting. It has to have decent off-road capabilities, as we have some pretty steep hills to navigate.

I was looking at the John Deere UTV line, Kubota diesel UTV line, and the Polaris Ranger line. I think the Kubota has a hydraulic lift bed as opposed to electric, which I liked. But i'm not sure if it has the off-road capabilities we need. I'm hesitant to give Polaris another shot, haven't been overly impressed with their QC. But I've driven plenty of RZR's and they have good off-road capabilities.

Anybody have any experience with any farm/work UTV's?

Engine and Bottom End / Ignition Coil Replacement

My OEM ignition coil is looking pretty ratty and i'm looking to replace it. What are my options? I don't want to blow money on some cheap ass China fleabay crap if I can find something of higher quality.

Suspension and Chassis / Found my Roll a-arm setup issue...

I have been fighting camber set-up issues with these Roll a-arms ever since I got them. I always thought Roll arms took 400ex spindles, but I guess I have early model a-arms that came out before the 400ex. I couldn't get the jam nut on the outside of the arm, but couldn't back the upper heim out far enough to get more positive camber. Basically the upper a-arm is longer on th earlier models that use the 250r spindles, shorter for the 400ex. Switching to 250r spindles fixed all of these issues for now.

I don't really feel like using 250r spindles....do 04/05 or 06+ 450r spindles work as a replacement?
