Howdy everyone. I have an ignition problem. My wheeler won't start when it gets cold. It runs great it has a new carb that has been jetted. And the jetting is correct. It fires right up when it's 60 degrees out when it gets around 25 degrees it wont start. I was thinking my stator or something getting weak. I noticed that it starts real hard if I try to start it with the headlight on It's a 86 trx 250R. I scoped the ignition system when the very first time I ever started it and it took quite a high velocity on the kickstart lever to get any readings. It just seemed that it was a little too much speed required to get anything out of it. Cant even see the spark on the plug when you check. But it's there, it runs. I am not very familiar with this ignition system.
don't know of any of its idiosyncrasies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
