Suspension and Chassis / CCP Stabilizers Back on Sale
« on: September 25, 2018, 08:58:43 AM »
Just thought I would let you guys know, these are for sale again by CCP. I like mine really well, and they are much better priced than most stabilizers.

Looks like you are off to a great start! I know how you fell. My first was in shambles when I bought it. Every bearing was worn out and needed replacing; and the frame was cracked. Now the only part I have left from my original quad is the rear brake reservoir! LOL

Sorry for no update. Work has been hectic. My machine shop guy has been swamped and unable to make them yet. I may have to use another source. Sorry for the delay. Need to get back on these.

Thanks for the report Zak. I really like that rhythm section just before the finish line jump. Wish more tracks had those.

I love the enthusiasm! May be hard to participate though as I’ve already lost 40 lbs and only have about 17 to go.

I miss reading your race reports! Great stuff. Sounds like you had fun. I glad I’m not the only one who yells at himself when he’s racing! Lol. If you listen hard enough, you can hear it sometimes on my go pro videos. I’m glad you got back out there again. You definitely need to get that overheating issue fixed. That’s no bueno. Sounds like you still got it on the gate starts!
It’s interesting what goes through your mind as you as racing. So little and yet so much can go through your mind in such a short period of time. It’s also crazy how tired you can be after only 8-12 minutes. 6 laps huh? I hope it wasn’t a long track! I would have been shot! Lol. So glad you didn’t have to pull a chad reed finished! That would have sucked so bad!
Man, how you would have felt if the dang tether hadn’t come undone!
Great job Joe!

Looks like a custom handmade pipe. I think you would be hard pressed to identify its maker.

Any recommendations on a cheap sports camera? I hear there are some decent ones out there for a good price.

My experiences with the cheaper action cameras has been pretty bad. I tried to skimp on them at first but still ended up buying a GoPro. I would have been better off buying a GoPro to start
This has been my experience as well. The picture was crappy on mine.

Sat is the first race. If I am feeling good enough i'm going to race another series the same night. I think I have something wrong with my head cuz I know I'm not going to last the first moto let alone 4 motos plus practices! its almost here and looking forward to reading all the updates.

Ahh snap! It’s going down! Lol. In all seriousness Joe, don’t push it too hard. Last time I did that my grip gave out and I can off the back of the quad during a race. My butt and back still have nightmares of it. Lol. Look forward to reading the reviews.

I use whatever I can find also. Lol. Currently using tm stuff. Maybe I should make my own. Nothing difficult about this stuff.

Sweet deal!  The shafts you previously made were out of billet.  Why the switch to this steel?  Any other differences?
My last batch was made of 304 stainless steel. While they were a viable option to get people back on the trail, they will not have the longevity that you would get from the oem ones. With that said, I now have the ability to make ones that would meet or exceed oem ones. So why not make them better if one is able to?

My mistake - could have sworn they were billet.  I'm in for at least 2 shafts; probably 1 or 2 impellers too.  Thanks for supporting the community @rablack21!  Have a ballpark time line for completion?
No problem at all. Ball park time frame would be 2 weeks for the first batch of 20. Test pieces are being machined this week. Then heat treated. After confirming the hardness and overall finish, I will make the other 18. Impellers will be a little longer. They will be made of billet aluminum. Grade not decided yet.

Engine and Bottom End / New pro grade 89 year style water pump shafts
« on: April 16, 2018, 03:51:29 PM »
Hey guys. Wanted to give an update on what’s in the pipeline.
First up is new water pump shafts. I wanted to make the new ones equal to or better than the oem ones. I say pro grade because these are a step up from the factory ones. The factory ones were made of mild steel that were surface hardened in two spots to reduce cost. Nothing wrong with that at all! Due to what is available to me now, I decided to make mine through hardened ones out of a stronger steel. The final product will be stronger and harder than the oem pieces. They will be compatible with 89 style water pump impellers and fit like Oem. Price is not completely determined yet.

Second product will be new 89 style water pump impellers. These will be exact replacements. They will just be machined instead of cast aluminum. Oem ones are cast. Price not determined. Shafts will come first then impellers.

Stay tuned. Good things coming!
