Title: Thick ESR Reeds
Post by: Goon250r on August 20, 2013, 03:16:53 PM
How thick are the new esr reeds?  If I take my RB 2000 reed block add that thickness with a spacer I already have  machined(just the spacer) to the exact thickness of the new esr spacers would that in turn give similar performance of the new thick esr reeds...  or are they a whole design...

Take the old reed petals, cut off the bottom part, say leave a 1/2" long piece of the top with the screw holes & use the upper piece on top of the new reed petals.
That extra 1/2" piece lapped on top of the new reeds will stiffen the thin reeds & make them last longer & react faster like the stiffer & thicker reeds for high rpm porting.
