Learned something new today.......a heat gun will get the case halves hot enough to change the bearings. I usually use either a propane torch or I borrow a set of heat blocks from work but had neither on hand so I tried my heat gun. Dunno if everyone knows this but thought I would pass it on.

There is some info on using heat in the tech section now. I think it works best if you can get the bearing install area around 200 degrees. I was hoping to have a tips and tricks section here. The heat gun is a perfect idea! Thanks for sharing.

Yes I tryed it a few months ago and it works great. Same thing if u want to freeze a bearing just use a can of compressed air that u buy to blow out electronics and it will get the bearing cold enough to sharink heat the case with the heat gun u have a froze bearing and heated case and bearing in in less then 2.
